This is an absolutely beautiful piece of music which I mark as among my favorite songs of all time.

I make custom toys, and sometimes I make them for other people. In this case I made this rad ass Daphne Blake from the Scooby-Doo gang for a client and she turned out pretty freaking awesome!
Need to do a final sealing coat on her and then she will be ready to make her journey to a far off land and onto someones shelf or bookcase or computer table or something, to be enjoyed for eternity!

IN MEMORY OF BAB
Every now and then a record comes along that just clicks. It hits all the right notes and connects with you on a level thats beyond the initial listening pleasure. Something resonates inside of you and connects on a deeper level like a lifelong friend or a newly acquainted lover. It just makes sense and it feels, comfortable and safe.
Thats kinda how it felt the first time I heard “IN MEMORY OF BAB” by Pohgoh.
"Tell Me Truly", the first song on the record instantly sets the tone and lets you know this isn’t going to be your average emo/pop/indie record. While it has a strong pop sensibility to it, its got the kind of lyrical content that speaks to a deeper part of the music lovers heart. Just about every song on IMOB is emotionally charged and speaks to the jilted lover that resides inside all of us. The great thing about IMOB is it doesn’t get lost in that place. IMOB’s strength lays in its ability to have enough spunk and that eternal sense of optimism with songs like "Superlife" or "All Along" that its hard if not impossible to smile and start singing along and not get too caught under some of the emotional weight it tends to carry.
IMOB can be pretty damn sad in parts with some heavy lyrical content but has such a positive energy overall and sense that love and life are something cherished and beautiful that it doesn’t get mired down in the heavy stuff too much.
Susie Richardson’s voice is so strong not only in her ability to sing but to really convey emotional weight and impact of events and experience that its hard not to instantly fall in love with her. Richardson’s voice is one that speaks entirely without pretense and never condescends its audience. Her singing is some of the purest I think I’ve ever heard and to this day continues to be as such.
Richardson’s subsequent musical releases PREFONTAINE and THE MACCABEES show the natural progression of her vocal talents and growth as an artist. They also continue to highlight her propensity toward writing truly heartfelt and emotionally captivating ballads that really get right the root of things and aren’t shy about saying what shes really thinking and feeling. Richardson really is a rare thing in music, an artist who can write intellectually strong and emotionally rich lyrics without coming off as pretentious or preachy.
In 1998 New Grenada Records released “IN MEMORY OF BAB” by Pohgoh and in doing so has left an indelible mark on me.

What ever happened to Tay Zonday?
Sometimes we create things that far exceed our expectations and in that moment, you are elated and in love. I am in love right now with this piece because it turned out just as beautiful as I imagined it would when I started.
I love the dress and the way the tail whips up like a serpents tail might.
I love how she is learning forward as though at any moment she might sprout wings and take off.
I am in love with her form and flow and how she doesn’t look threatening at all, but elegant and flowing and that is precisely what a true killer should do, be unassuming and sleek.
I had to go back and dullcote her to take all the shine away that had previously covered the entire figure then selectively add some of it back on the armor/dress areas, and again I am just in love with how this turned out.
Elegant and lethal like no Sith before her, Darth Maleficent.
Feel free to stop by the extended gallery that has all the work in progress shots and a bunch more up close detail shots on the final piece.
