Change is a good thing people keep telling me, and to a certain extent they are correct. One of the changes that has been happening here at GeekVariety.com is that The Healing Heroes Project is being folded back into GV so all future updates to the project will be posted on GeekVariety.
To those who aren’t familiar with the project, THHP is something I created to help sick kids. The kids in question that I’m helping are receiving treatment for various forms of Leukemia and other blood born cancers and diseases.
Basically the kids design their own hero with a template we provide and then we make their hero into a real one of a kind action figure. So far the project has been a success in that we’ve created quite a few heroes for these kids.
The image above is of all the heroes we’ve created to date. There is one lone face among the heroes and that’s the face of Kahlia Wilson. Kahlia was a young lady from Australia who lost her battle with cancer this past December. Kahlia was also the first person outside the US to take part in THHP and it was an honor to be able to make her hero come to life.
That’s what The Healing Heroes Project is about, giving these kids a little ray of hope in a time when things might not be looking so great for them.
Stay tuned to GeekVariety.com for more updates as they become available and thanks for stopping by.
