I’m about to write a response to this reblog cause I feel its something I NEED to do to clear things up a bit.
Point 1: Nobody is reinforcing gender stereotypes here. Nobody said at any point that girls cant be geeky if they are sexy. You are reading into this. NOTHING Dave or I said implied, inferred, insinuated in any way shape or form anything along those lines. We are simply appreciating some pretty ladies getting sassy, that’s all.
Point 2: You are acting a fool by saying what you said. Now, don’t get me wrong, you are entitled to your opinion on all things from Star Trek to mountain bikes, but for you to imply that you know who these girls are, how geeky they are, what they know about Star Trek as apposed to you and your experience is fucking shameful and you do a disservice to us all by judging people you don’t even know and saying what they are and are not. You are casting aspersions left and right here and judging people whom you have no knowledge of whatsoever! We talked about this sorta nonsense on the latest episode of BECAUSE, WHY NOT? PODCAST, you might want to listen to it and learn a thing or two.
Point 3: This point is mostly just point 2 again but seriously calm down. You are judging people you don’t even know. You are judging people who you have no idea what their life experience is and you are trying to be the holy grail and keeper of the faith all in one without knowing anything about what drove these people to do what they are doing.
Mind you, they might just be paid models, but ya know what, one of them might be the person behind these outfits who has spent a lifetime loving and caring about Star Trek and is taking the time and effort to create something and bring into the world something new and exciting to who knows who?!
Sure shes got fake tits, and I think fake tits are gross but ya know else, I think fat people are gross. Are you fat? Oh hey look at me bein Captain Judgy Judgy about how people look. It kinda sucks doesn’t it?
Dont judge people by looks, don’t judge them cause you think you know better, don’t for a minute think that you opinion in the world of geekdom is more important or valid than anyone elses cause its not!
You have not lived their life and seen and done the things they did, you do not love the things they love the way they love them so you cannot judge them by your own rules. We might not all be as purportedly geeky as you when it comes to Star Trek, but don’t dare tell someone else they are wrong because you don’t know them, you don’t know what brought them to this place and you haven’t walked a mile in their shoes to be able to be in a position to judge them.

This is not an attack or meant as one on Heidi Black, this is simply an opinion and hopefully a wake up call. Or maybe I’m also reading too deeply into this and this was all a joke on her part. If that’s the case then I am sorry for railing out like this but shit man, this needed to be said anyhow so drink it in.
