Advice For Photographers Shooting Nudes

I love photography. Okay let me correct myself, I love good photography. I do not however love half assed poorly executed photography that shows a lack of detail and forethought on the part of the person behind the camera.

While looking through posts on deviantart for some reference as well as some other sites that focus on photography I keep seeing the same things over and over again, bad nudes. 

The photos aren’t bad per say cause the models are ugly or things like that but mainly because there is no attention to detail. 

Time and again you see the models who are being photographed with impressions around their waist and other body parts from elastic bands in the underwear or cloth patterns from fluffy frilly robes they are wearing in between shots. 

When you are shooting nudes always have the model undress and wear a robe that isn’t like a cheese cloth or something like that but a smooth fabric and give their skin time to adjust and reset from having bras and panties gouging into their soon to be exposed areas! 

Seriously I see this all the time in work where people don’t know to do this and it looks fucking tacky as fuck! Seeing a girl with dents in her skin from her underwear is not only tacky and half assed but it shows how little care and thought are put into what the photog is doing. 

If you want to be a professional, think like one. Explore a large variety of work and see what people are doing right and try and do those things. Think about and be aware of your surroundings and your models and take steps to make them look as good as possible cause in the end it makes you look that much better. Take your time and don’t rush things, this is a delicate situation and demands and deft touch, don’t be pushy and make the model uncomfortable cause it will show through in the pictures.
