ST fans argue with SW fans cause they consider it a ripoff, but what about Flash Gordon fans? also ST has a more complex story
Good point about Flash Gordon but as good or as fun as that was, STAR TREK really did set a standard if you look at it. I mean Kirk kissing Ohora, that was HUGE! As much as Flash Gordon was a pioneer I think STAR TREK really did set a bar both on a social scale as it did a quality of story scale. Rodenbery got into some pretty crucial tones at the time, tackling the first interracial kiss on television to the idea of mutual understanding and prospering of cultures that before this time has been mutually exclusive to themselves.
