artgantuan: After Ryan and I watched some late night Community (I’ve gotten him caught up to nearly halfway through Season 2), I decided to do some colors before bed. I was excited to see this through. Tried a few different things on this just to find out if they’d work. I’m pretty happy with the ultimate result!

Ya know, I was really hoping CABLE would stay dead longer or forever really so that someone could make use of XMAN (Nate Grey, Cable’s AOA clone self thingy person) since he came back somewhat recently.  I like Cable for sure but I hate when comic deaths don’t count and there are things that can be done that are smarter, more interesting and have more of an impact than just killing someone off and bringing them back with the next event cycle.  I know it happens all the time but it doesn’t mean I gotta like it. This is a pretty big week from MARVEL with a lot of really interesting books coming out. Of course UNCANNY X-FORCE is my top pick without question but there are some other gems in the mix that are looking to be contenders for my attention.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a version of him that was interesting in the least until recently in XFORCE but I still don’t care for him really. I do however love his mutation and have dreamed of having wings since I was a small child. I also love when an artist shows wide format pieces like this one where his wings are spread and he’s flying, its very majestic and inspiring. I hate when artist do tight shots of Angel and Hawkgirl cause I think it doesn’t do them justice. I really love this image.
